MT-Blacklist Version 1.5 released
Version 1.5 of the new
Anti-Spam weapon has been released. Now, instead of simply de-spamming and deleting one comment spam (or trackback…), you can search every single blog in your entire Movable Type installation for spam, delete them all at once, rebuild the relevant pages and add all of the extracted URLs to your blacklist. So if you are a MoveableType-User and annoyed by permanently deleting comment spam it's time to look at this piece of software.
Referrer spamming via server statistic
In order to get more links and Pagerank some sites use another kind of referrer spamming - they flood the statistic pages with their referals. An interesting entry about such an incident could be seen in Kasias Weblog:
New version of google-bombing . The best you could do is to make your stat pages non-public. Otherwise you should try to delink the referrer urls or to make the stat pages inaccessible to search engine spiders.
Guestbook to Hell visualisiert. Und wer weiss was sich sonst noch alles unter der scheinbar harmlosen Oberfläche manchen Gästebuches abspielt.
Junkeater - a new weapon against Guestbook Spam
Junkeater is a little program that looks at your guestbook entries before they get published. It eats spam entries and passes legitimate entries to your guestbook. It's a kind of Spamassassin for Guestbooks, and it looks really promising. Not too hard to implement. Just some small changes and your guestbook world becomes liveable again.
